Las Vegas

This week was not only a needed late vacation but also a special wedding for my boyfriend's brother, Kaz, and his fiance, Heather. The wedding was in Las Vegas, yes...Las Vegas. And no, it was not a last minute wedding either...lol. We took off to Vegas from Sacramento and it was quick hour and a half flight.

The second you landed at the McCarren Airport you could just feel the rush of Las Vegas run right through you. We took a cab to the MGM Grand, where we would be staying, which was a quick 5 minute ride. When we walked into the hotel, it was quite impressive. The lobby was so huge and there were tons of people with suitcases rushing and walking in every direction.

That night we ate at the MGM Buffet. We ate so much we all were ready to call it a night. But instead, Makoto and I decided to stroll on the Vegas Strip...which we thought would be a nice little stroll, but it was such a long walk. Every two seconds we were harassed by people trying to pass us "cards" (they were cards to advertise "girls in Vegas"...), but that aside, it was quite amazing. All the bright lights and tall buildings; there was just so much to see. The best part of the night was catching the water show at the Bellagio.

The next day was the wedding which was in the hotel. It was a quaint little chapel, next to the CSI Experience..lol. But once inside, it was so cozy and intimate, you didn't even feel like you were in Las Vegas. The ceremony was very short but extremely touching. The Pastor was very good at his job (I'm sure he's done wedding ceremonies a couple times...) After the ceremony we headed over to a nearby restaurant to have dinner. That night, we took another stroll to look at other hotels.

Friday was our last day in Vegas. And to my surprise, I wish it wasn't. There is just too much to see and not enough time to look at everything. I really wanted to check out Old Vegas and just explore more of the city as well as Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon. That just means we'll have to plan another trip back here!
