Little getaways are always the best, even if it's just for the day. On this adventure, we ventured to South Lake Tahoe to Cascade Falls. The trailhead for Cascade Falls start right across from Inspiration Point vista (view of Emerald Bay) -- across the road. We got there a little late and parking was a little tight, but we managed and started our hike. The hike was not very long, maybe 30 to 45 mins and the path was pretty narrow, above the mountain...like you'd totally die if you slipped off the edge and so I was surprised to see a few families with young children!! Anyways, when we finally got to the fall...we kept walking around and around because we didn't see a water fall...only a little trickle. It was pretty underwhelming, but that's what we get for looking for a waterfall during a drought. We should have went during spring time! But the view from Cascade Falls was beautiful and that was enough to call this trip successful.

| The picture on the right is what's left of Cascade Falls. We're hoping to go back next early spring. |
