Hearst Castle, Cambria, and Cayucos - Part II
We've been camping near Heart Castle at San Simeon Creek Campground so that we'd be close to Hearst Castle when the time came around to visit. Little did we know that the shower was not working before we arrived, and we totally (probably) smelled less than a little fresh when we went to go visit the castle grounds. But oh well, what can you do. Thankfully it was a very rainy weekday and not very many people were visiting Heart Castle. Hearst Castle is a very odd sighting from HWY 1. It's very out of place and surreal. Nestled up in the hills of San Simeon, it stands outs overlooking the Pacific ocean. Unfortunately because of the rainy and windy weather, the views were obstructed. Nonetheless, it was still such an awesome experience to see so much history in one place.
